3.5" Door Hinges, 5/8" Radius

I recently redid both of my bathrooms, and went with the black and white theme. I changed all of my door knobs, faucets, towel holders, toilet paper roll holders, and even the flush cleaver on my toilets, to black. The only thing that I hadn't changed to this point to black as an accessory, where the hinges on my doors. I jumped at the chance to order these hinges, because they sized up perfectly for my current layout. Unfortunately, they are slightly different than my old hinges are, even though they have the same dimensions. So, in my case, it's not going to be a super easy and direct switch out, but will require a little bit of customization on my part, which I do intend to get too soon. However, I wanted to give my initial impressions on the quality of the hinges themselves. The finish is a lovely matte black, and the hinges come in a set of 12, which is perfect for me to do the three doors that I intend to do, and have a few extra leftover. The screws that they include are a nice length, and will securely attach the door to the door frame. Playing around with the hinge, I noticed how well they were greased. The swiveling action is extremely smooth, and absolutely silent. They are made of very nice material, have an excellent finish, and will certainly be the final touch to my black and white decor. All in all, I'm very pleased with them, and can't wait to chisel out a little bit of extra wood to accommodate the pattern of this hinge against my door frame, as well as door. If you're looking for hinges to attach to new construction, and are looking for ones that are black, these are an excellent choice, and I would certainly recommend them.

Great quality and replacement for a wallet friendly upgrade. I also went with some less expensive oil brushed bronze door knobs and I couldn’t be happier.

We replaced all of our old, ugly gold hinges with these.  They really improved the look and function as expected.  I appreciate that they came with some longer screws for stability in the jamb. The cost for a multi-pack was more reasonable than purchasing individual hinges at Home Depot. 

These door hinges are direct replacements for most standard door hinges, and they are some of the nicer hinges I've seen, without straying into high end ball bearing hinges or specialty hinges. They seem to operate smoothly, though note that the hinge pins arrived greased with some of the grease oozing out just a little bit. It's nice that they're greased, which will help with potential squeaks as well as reduce premature wear, but you do need to be a bit careful in handling them around your woodwork, since any grease that transfers from the hinge or your hands to the woodwork may cause problems with paint adhering. The grease is a bit of a thicker grease, so the hinge opens and closes fine, but it isn't a loose swing.

It's a nice touch that they've included twelve extra-long screws (mine measure just under 2-1/4" long) to help screw through the door jamb and into the underlying framing for an extra secure installation.

Sounds odd to get excited about a hinge. But these are great!

These hinges come pre lubricated with a thick grease. The short screws are about 1/8 inch longer than standard which is great if you have a stripped hole and the heads are sturdy, I didn't end up with any wallowed out screw heads like can spmetimes happen with cheap screws. I didn't have a need for the long screws, but these are great if you have a sagging door to screw into the stud. The hinges are heavy duty and fit exactly in the hole.

Previous owner put graphite in all our door hinges. Now we have graphite all over our walls. Kids stick their finger in it and leave finger prints all over my white doors and jams. The only thing that gets the graphite off is an eraser or Mr Clean sponge. You can see the old hinges vs the new ones in my photo. And you can see all the fingerprints i got on the door just while uninstalling the old hinges.

Do yourself a favor, use silicone grease, never graphite. The only place graphite should be used are areas that are routinely exposed to freezing temperatures.
