2″–5″ Light Duty T Hinges

Ordered 6 of these, all had a manufacturing defect that prevented them from rotating 270 degrees, as advertised. This mean you CANNOT use them in a 90 degree (hidden flange) configuration. 1 of the six had a pin binding issue that prevented free movement of the hinge. 1 of the six had serious cosmetic flaws that rendered it unusable.

These hinges don’t work for what I bought them for. There’s nothing wrong with the hinges it’s just they aren’t fitting the box that I need to hinges for.

The hinge is great, but the screws strip out easily. I had to replace the screws that came with the package.

Screws are low quality, typical for many such products. Have to drill pilot holes even in soft wood or the heads will strip, even using a new bit on my drill. The hinges themselves were fine but I had to throw away the packs of screws and use better ones I already had.

We just installed three of these on a very heavy shed door yesterday, and were a bit apprehensive about the 80 pound per hinge weight limit. Thus, we tossed the screws that came with them (way too short for our project) and used 3.5" long 5/16" bolts, washers and nuts. They were easy to install and are working the door flawlessly. No sag, breakage or movement once installed. Installed them on the door first, then on the door frame. The price was good, and we will update this review in the future if necessary.

Well, I was making beefy bear shutters for my cabin. I wanted to use 2"x redwood instead of the common 1"x . I didn't know exactly what or how, but I knew there would be some weight: each of the four shutter is a 4' tall and 3' wide bifold. I anchored these with 3 1/2" Structural Wood Screws (Simpson StrongTie, Outdoor Accents). I didn't fill every hole. Man, these things are solid and smooth. I am surprised and thrilled. (I'm also surprised my shutters actually came out nice!) I found nothing like this in three hardware stores.

It felt sturdy out the bag. It had weight. I changed out an old hinge that's been there since moving in 23 years prior. I had to reinforce the jamb to the cinder block fence. Once i did that, I installed the new hinge. It had the same dimensions, that was great, so I didn't have to measure new holes. I did put a slimmer dowel in the hole so the new screws would catch better. As I tightened the screw sitting closer to the hinge part, I noticed the hinge itself bent. Very subtle, but I noticed it. It still held up the gate from sagging and rubbing the ground. I took off one star. It works well still. When I install the top hinge, I will update.

Great value for the money. It was easy to install and is sturdy.
