these hinges work best if you hang the hinge on the post first, line it up letting the hinge slack drop. Let the hinge slack drop then screw the hinge on the gate. This stops the gate from dropping because you took the slack out, by letting the gate hinge part drop before screwing it on.

Homemade, single-wide, T-111 door is not light, and these hold it just fine.

It felt sturdy out the bag. It had weight. I changed out an old hinge that's been there since moving in 23 years prior. I had to reinforce the jamb to the cinder block fence. Once i did that, I installed the new hinge. It had the same dimensions, that was great, so I didn't have to measure new holes. I did put a slimmer dowel in the hole so the new screws would catch better. As I tightened the screw sitting closer to the hinge part, I noticed the hinge itself bent. Very subtle, but I noticed it. It still held up the gate from sagging and rubbing the ground. I took off one star. It works well still. When I install the top hinge, I will update.

These 10" hinges are beefy and have a nice coating on them. The screw holes are large enough to accommodate lags or structural screws if your doors are heavy. The included screws are small, but they are black so they match the hinge and are probably fine for smaller and lighter projects. I used 3 hinges each for 2 4x8" shed doors and bought some 3" structural screws to replace the included ones.

These do not have a bushing in them like the 8" ones do. I don't really understand why they wouldn't be all the same. Looking at the picture closer it does not show a bushing so the product is as stated. Overall a good product but some improvements could be made. Still a better deal than a big box store even with the deficits.

I ordered the 12 inch hinges, a set of two. Each hinge requires 10 screws, I only received 9. The hinges look great, but I can't install them until I go spend more money on screws that were supposed to be provided. Based on how heavy they feel and the smooth motion, they should probably rate 5 stars. I'll update this to three stars if they work well after I buy the additional screws. Extremely frustrating, especially since I saw other reviews that said they were missing screws and the company was quick to ship them out. When I tried to contact them, I was redirected to Amazon customer service and got nowhere. It's the weekend, maybe I'll have better luck on Monday.

I cannot recommend these hinges as they are not strong. They broke with the weight of the gate. The supplied screws are curiously short for the size of the hinge as well. Had to replace the screws. But, ultimately had to replace all of it.
