4″–12″ Heavy Duty Gate T Hinges

I don't regret my purchase of these hinges, but they don't have bearings, they are not rustproof and definitely not powder coated. I assumed this would be the case at this price point.
They are painted black, but they are prone to chipping.
Take care in hanging them and they will perform just fine.

I like the quality of the black painted, powder coat finish.

As long as you don't expect much for the money these are a good buy. At less than half the cost of home improvement store for an 8" hinge these are exactly that. They are not a heavy duty more a standard duty hinge. I'll be using three of them on each of a pair of 55 x 60 gates associated to a 10ft RV pad entrance. These do not have plastic bushings at the pivot point so they will squeak and will require lubrication. The included fasteners are inadequate, but I'll use them for another purpose. The hinge mounting through holes will accommodate 1/4" lags. Three of the six needed some straightening using a vise because they would not sit flat. The gates are currently mounted with two 4" hinges and sagging. I do not have a picture of this project because I am still assembling the new 2x4 gate frames. I am of the perception most know what hinges look like when mounted.

These hinges are well made. They worked nicely supporting a couple of 7’ high x 8’ wide wooden doors I built for a shed.

The metal is much thinner than a heavy duty hindge.

Hinge pins are not peened so they just fall out of the hinge useless unless you pean them then the plating falls off Junk do not buy these

I finally got around to putting in a gate and no matter what I tried, the gate would sag because of the play in the hinge.

The positive is that there were cheap. I’ll find another use for them.

These should only be used for light duty items. The reason for the score is that they try to pass these off as “heavy duty”.

I haven’t installed them yet because my shed I’m using them on is upstate. They do look like they will be great for my shed doors, however I wish the holes were cut out square for carriage bolts so one can break into my shed
