I have wanted to change out my door hinges for almost 10 years. The less expensive prehung interior doors used to come with gold hinges, now they come with nickel. We have some of each and recently switched to black door handles to totally mismatch everything. This set is very reasonably priced and came with enough hinges to do 14 doors. I believe I have 12 total counting closets. This is a way better value than buying black hinges at the same home improvement stores that sell the prehung doors. And the quality and fit are exactly the same. The hinges operate very smoothly. The screws come in 2 lengths and they were an easy swap out without even removing any of the doors. It's a small thing that maybe only I notice, but when you replace all of your doors a few at a time on a budget, it's the finishing touches that really make it.

Buying new pre-hung interior doors units from a big box home improvement store (HD) for our house renovation, but the hinges are all a dull silver finish and do not match the matte black hardware and fixtures we have throughout.
I could've custom ordered the doors with black hinges, but it added 30-40 bucks per door depending on the size, so I planned to take each hinge off and spray paint them until I saw this great deal on bulk hinges.

42 hinges in this group is enough to do 14 doors, which happens to be the exact number of doors units I have (10 new doors and 4 existing doors) at less than five bucks per door... plus the black screws are included.
I could not even buy the paint and pay myself minimum wage for that small amount of money per door, plus the painted finish would be easy to scratch off and not nearly as durable as the finish on these hinges.

A lot of people are switching to matte black hardware, but overlook the hinges, and the doors look so much more custom and high-end when you swap them out to match... or to replace old hinges that have been painted over many times.

Tip: just change out one hinge at a time rather than removing the door and there's nothing to line up or adjust afterwards and no heavy lifting.
The door will be perfectly positioned and it makes it a one-person job that goes fast.

The quality of the hinges is good and the screws drive in without stripping or marring.
They match the mortise on the door and jamb perfectly with no additional trimming required.
The operation is smooth and gives the doors a custom, finished look.

Once I change out all of the hinges, I can drop the others off at a local charity building supply shop because they always need hinges for doors that do not have them and it saves me storing them or throwing them away.

These hinges are great looking and solid! They came with more than enough matching screws, long and standard, to get the job done with some to spare. Redid our entire house with these hinges and it turned out great. Now our nickel doorknobs match the hinges. Excellent!
